The End of the Beginning

It happened on a random day of a random week, they decided and agreed to break. Maybe it was because of the distance, maybe it was because of being tied to a person whom they dont share a future with. Maybe they were both very tired from all the difficulties in life. Maybe they felt guilty for not offering their best effort in maintaining the relationship.

Anyway, they broke.

The girl went through cycles of trying to forget and savoring the past in the past one and a half month. She understood the reason of the break yet she did not want to accept it. As the break is the living evidence of the death of something she cherishes. To her, the guy is the best boyfriend in the world and he is the only person she invited into her world. To her, it was more than a relationship she had with the guy. She cherishes every detail of it.

It was, and still is, painful for both of them. After all, there were a lot to give up. Not only they will have to accept the fact that they will go on different journeys, they will also have to let go all the beautiful memories they made together. Living on with those beautiful memories without each other's presence is beyond painful. Even they intend to keep those memories. The feeling and the nature of those memories will be changed with time.

No feelings and memories can last forever. The girl knows it very well and she wants to do this relationship justice by preserving the truth before the substances in this relationship fade away.

The girl decided to stretch out as far as she can to grab as many feelings and thoughts as possible before their feelings turn sour and they turn away from each other.

All she needs is to mourn over the end of a phase.

  1. What he liked about her was her nature. She was approachable and kind and always patient with him from the beginning. He tried to find places he could take her during their dates and it would stress him out because he is not good at that sort of thing. But he soon realised she was not like ordinary girls. She did not mind where we were. She was not impressed by glamour or grand gestures of affection. She was content to spend time together, wherever they were. That showed that she was mature and it showed her unique character.

He didn't know what she could possibly see in him. She was an intelligent, beautiful, kind, radiant and unique girl. He was so average - unconfident, unhandsome, silly and unintelligent. But she made him feel unique and always listened to his ramblings. No one else would do that for him. She was kind and took an interest in his interests. Of course it helped that they shared such common interests. She was always sweet and every time they met, she brightened up his day.

The afternoon they spent giving flowers in the rain is perhaps the most perfect day of his life. There is no one else he could have done that with. No one else would have enjoyed that but her and done it with a smile on her face despite the rain. She really is one of a kind. He was hers.

The time they spent together was always special. They liked to do simple things like watch films, get dinner, get coffee and go to book stores. This showed how much of a connection they had. He simply wanted to be around her. He did not care that they went to the same place. To be in her presence made him smile. And he loves to make her smile.

Such a brief time did they spend physically together, but it felt like a whole lifetime, a different lifetime. They connected so well and understood each other so thoroughly. He cherishes these memories and would dislike losing even one of these moments.
